Warning: If you don’t know ball, don’t bother reading!!
LeBron James is often hailed as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, but is that reputation truly deserved? I don’t believe so in the slightest! I can honestly prove that his name should not be brought up in the top 10 OAT conversation. While his career has been filled with pretty looking highlights and he has filled up the stat sheet, a closer look at his game exposes his flaws that simply can’t be ignored.
Lebron simply cannot get the job done in clutch moments consistently. The all time great players are great for their success when it matters most. Quick question, how many championships has Lebron lost? Now how many did Micheal Jordan lost? Yeah.
LeBron is known for his struggles in clutch situations and for great reason – because it’s true! Compared to the real legends like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, who thrived under pressure, LeBron has often passed the ball instead of taking the final shot himself. Why would that be? His free throw percentage in late game situations is simply not good enough! He knows he folds under pressure, and so do we!
LeBron glazers like to show everyone the statsheet, but how much of that is due to his actual skill versus the era in which he plays? Unlike previous generations, today’s NBA is more offensively focused, with rules that limit physical defense. Furthermore, LeBron has consistently and purposefully surrounded himself with elite teammates, forming stacked superteams in all of Miami, Cleveland, and Los Angeles. Sure would be nice having Dwyane Wade, Anthony Davis, and Kyrie to pass the ball to every game!
LeBron is not a team player and takes self-gain any chance he gets. A true franchise player would stick with their team through thick and thin, building legacies with a single fanbase. Instead, LeBron has become infamous for leaving teams when things don’t go his way. And people wonder why everyone is a fan of LeBron: he’s played in all corners of the country of course everyone loves him! His move from Cleveland to Miami in 2010, back to Cleveland in 2014, and then to Los Angeles in 2018 shows that he prioritizes personal gain over loyalty!!
While LeBron was once known for his defensive success, in recent years on the Lakers he has fallen off a cliff. It’s not rare to see the occasional highlight clip on tiktok showing him standing there in la la land as opponents drive past him or as he fails to contest shots. Great players don’t just excel offensively—they dominate on both ends of the floor. LeBron’s lack of consistent defensive intensity exposes his weak mental game!
April Fools.
LeBron is the goat and always will be. I love him dearly. This article hurt to write.
