With it being December and Christmas coming up, a classic holiday tradition is watching Christmas movies. Whether that be by yourself, with a partner, or with your family, everyone has a favorite Christmas movie, and I’ve gone around and asked a few Chaminade teachers what their favorite Christmas movies are.
My favorite Christmas movie is The Polar Express. However, it seemed to be the odd one out as the majority of the teachers I asked said Elf or Christmas Vacation. Mr. Keithley shared his favorite quote from Christmas Vacation: “Don’t go puttin’ none of that stuff on my sled, Clark. You know that metal plate in my head? I had to have it replaced, cause every time Catherine revved up the microwave, I’d piss my pants and forget who I was for a half hour or so.” – Eddie.
There were a couple of other odd ones out, with Mrs. Lang’s favorite being The Santa Clause, and Mr. McMenamy with an insane pull in Miracle on 34th Street, which no one else said.
That being said, you can’t go wrong with any of these movies. Whether it’s The Polar Express, Elf, Christmas Vacation, etc., there’s something about Christmas movies that bring people joy, and that’s what Christmas is all about.
