The football teams prioritize the strength and wellness of its players. One would imagine the players training in a space like a gym or on the field to strengthen their muscles and improve their skills. However, the football team also takes a different approach to keeping the players in the best possible condition. For multiple years now, the football players have been doing yoga around two times a week. Yoga is being utilized as a way for the players to keep their minds in a good state and their body in an even better state.
While it is a change of pace for a football players, they still enjoy this activity. One player describes it as, “fun and a cool thing the team does together.”
Yoga is a great idea that not many of the players would have expected to do. Another player on the team believes it to be “totally different from what I usually do but really enjoyable at the same time.”
One more player enjoys yoga because, “it is a way to wind down and recover after a practice.” Overall, yoga is well received by the players, and they want to keep doing it.
There are many benefits that a person can get from doing yoga, especially a football player. Mentally, it can calm someone down and that is important for a football player who could be impassioned by the game. It is a way for them to slow down and quiet the noise. Participating in a quiet and peaceful yoga environment is completely opposite from being on a loud football field with many different people yelling and running. Mental clarity is vital for not only a team’s success but also the success of an individual person. This is why performing yoga can benefit not just a football player, but every single person.

The physical benefits do not only apply to football players, but anyone also that does any activity that puts stress on the body should use yoga few times a week to.
