It is common knowledge here at Chaminade that there are some places that you just don’t want to be when it is nighttime. Some obvious ones are the tunnels underneath the school, the 4th floor, and the basement. Then we also know that there is something eerie about Cemetery Lane when there is a full moon out at night.
I was rummaging around and asking people around the school for some stories, until I stumbled across to find a book named “Chaminade Legends and Lore.” While looking at this book I found all different old names like Brother Waldron. This man looks like he could be a ghost still traversing the halls at night. I found an article named “The Ghosts of Chaminade.” This had numerous different accounts of ghosts and different spirits. There was one account from Gloria McCoy, who in her new office in Frische Hall said that she saw a shadow move quickly across her and a chair rolling with an invisible object saying, “Hello.”
The housekeeper, Mrs. Bailey, shared that she had heard children laugh and run up and down the halls with no one being there. She also recounted that one time she heard multiple radios turn on without notice and had to turn them off.
You can say whatever you would like about Chaminade and that it is all a joke and a myth, but when you hear something mysterious, then you might want to get out of there. Enjoy your Halloween and beware of some spirits flying amongst the night.
